On March 31 and April 1, College Possible Minnesota’s Executive Director BG Tucker participated in the National College Attainment Network’s (NCAN) Leadership Summit and Annual Hill Day. Providing a mix of knowledge and skill-building sessions, the first day of this event featured a half-day executive retreat for executives, an introduction to advocacy for newcomers and students, advanced training for those looking to deepen their advocacy skill set, plus four sessions on the latest trends and biggest ideas related to higher education access and attainment.
The second day of the event sent attendees to Capitol Hill to put their new skills into action. Tucker and her summit colleagues made their voices heard and educated their representatives in the US House and Senate on time-sensitive and pressing policy matters. BG was able to meet with several Minnesota representatives, including Senators Tina Smith and Amy Klobuchar and Congresswoman Angie Craig.
