Sienna’s path through college was shaped by turning her own challenges into strength. Graduating from High Point University with a degree in neuroscience and a minor in psychology, she has laid the groundwork for a future where she can make a real difference in healthcare, driven by personal experience and a passion for helping patients.

She is currently a care associate at the MACC Fund Center, specializing in pediatric oncology and hematology, while preparing to begin physician assistant (PA) school next spring. Sienna aspires to become an orthopedic physician assistant, focusing on patient-centered care.

Obtaining her college degree turned Sienna’s dreams into attainable goals, giving her the knowledge, experience, and confidence to pursue PA school and her career ambitions.

Sienna’s journey was not without challenges. Born with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) and growing up in a low-income household, she faced significant health and financial obstacles. She describes these experiences as a source of determination to succeed and build a better future for her community.

One of Sienna’s proudest accomplishments was presenting her research on endangered mussels in North Carolina waterways at the 2024 Association of Southeastern Biologists Conference. She also honed her leadership skills as the president of High Point’s Pre-PA club.

Sienna says support from her College Possible coach, Ariana, played an integral role in her success. Ariana provided unwavering support during her senior year, especially with scholarship challenges. Sienna notes that Ariana’s mentorship taught her the importance of standing up for herself and fighting for what she wants.

She credits College Possible with opening countless doors, from scholarship assistance and ACT prep to emotional support, allowing her to focus on her education without financial stress or other challenges. She encourages students to reach out often, because College Possible is ready and eager to support their success.

Looking ahead, Sienna envisions herself as a practicing PA who champions patient dignity and healthcare access. She’s committed to being a voice for those who often go unheard. “I want to serve all patients, no matter their background or access to care.”
