College Possible Wisconsin: This School Year, 1,400+ Students Supported by a Model That Works

College Possible Wisconsin

As students return to classrooms this fall, College Possible Wisconsin is hitting the ground running, energized by the start of a new school year and more committed than ever to supporting students on their journey to achieving their college and career dreams.

This fall, we are supporting more than 1,400 students across the region, continuing our legacy as one of the largest college access and success programs in the state and nationwide. We are proud to partner with high schools, families, and community organizations to ensure students from low-income backgrounds not only make it to college, but thrive in it and beyond.

This year also marks the launch of our new AI-powered model, designed to preserve and strengthen our 17-year legacy of impact while improving student support. Our new college advising specialists are full-time professionals, and many of whom are College Possible alumni or former AmeriCorps members. They are now embedded directly in schools, building strong, long-term relationships with students, educators, and staff. Paired with a new student-facing AI platform, students now benefit from both consistent, personalized advising and 24/7 access to resources and guidance, making support more accessible and impactful than ever before.

“Being back in the high school setting every day is exciting,” says Ben, a college advising specialist. “The energy is infectious, and the connection to principals, counselors, and the community is incredible.”

For Lanisia, a former College Possible student now serving as an advising specialist, the work is personal. “Knowing I’m making an impact on my community and getting the chance to give back the way others gave to me, really makes my work meaningful,” she says.

We also have much to celebrate: this year, we honored our 1,000th college graduate, and our alumni continue to thrive: 95% are employed, and 71% are actively saving for retirement. These outcomes show the impact of College Possible’s model and the real power of a college degree.

As we begin this new school year, we’re energized by the possibilities ahead and remain deeply committed to empowering Wisconsin students, every step of the way.
