College Possible Omaha hosted its inaugural Dollars for Scholars Day: A Scholarship and FAFSA Workshop on Saturday, February 22, 2025, bringing students one step closer to affordable college education. The open-house style event welcomed students for a hands-on, supportive experience aimed at breaking down financial barriers to higher education.
As part of College Possible Omaha’s ongoing Fund Your Future initiative, Dollars for Scholars Day was created to connect students and families with the tools, resources, and expert support needed to pursue scholarships and successfully complete the FAFSA.
The event featured several interactive stations, all staffed by trained College Possible coaches, who guided students through every step of the financial aid and scholarship process. Stations included:
- FAFSA support with one-on-one coaching
- Scholarship essay writing help with outlines and feedback
- Resume building support for scholarship and college applications
- Scholarship navigation with resources and advice
- Information tables featuring our college partners
Students and families were encouraged to visit each station, with giveaways incentivizing full participation. Whether they needed help starting a FAFSA application or polishing an essay, attendees received expert, personalized support from the College Possible Omaha team.
Students walked away with valuable take-home materials, including:

- A myth buster handout addressing common scholarship misconceptions
The event was open to all high school and college students in the metro, providing a wide-reaching opportunity for support. Every conversation, resource, and coaching session was designed to help students fund their future with confidence.
