College Possible Omaha is proud to announce the promotion of Melissa Robinson to executive director. Robinson steps into the role following a successful tenure as interim executive director, where she provided steady leadership during a period of transition and growth.
Since joining College Possible in 2020 as a grants manager, Robinson has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting college access for students from low-income backgrounds. She was promoted to senior director of development in 2022, leading efforts to expand community partnerships and increase philanthropic support for the organization’s mission.
“Melissa is a thoughtful and proven leader who brings both strategic insight and deep community ties to her work,” says Dr. Siva Kumari, CEO of College Possible. “Her leadership in Omaha has already made a meaningful difference, and we’re excited to see the continued impact she will make in this role.”
Robinson brings a broad range of professional experience to her new role. Prior to College Possible, she served in advancement roles at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, for 10 years and taught as an adjunct professor. Earlier in her career, she worked as director of human resources in the private sector and spent four years as a substitute teacher — experience that deepened her understanding of students’ needs and aspirations.
“I am deeply honored to have been selected as the executive director of College Possible Omaha. Expanding college access and ensuring student success is work that changes lives, and I’m excited to lead our incredible team in advancing that mission every day.” Robinson says.
In her new position, Robinson will oversee strategy, operations and community engagement for the Omaha site, ensuring College Possible continues to support students on their path to college admission and graduation.
On Robinson’s promotion, Lisa Lackovic, advisory board chair for College Possible Omaha says, “A leader of quiet strength and unwavering humility, Melissa brings not only deep strategic insight but also genuine kindness and integrity to every challenge. With Melissa’s guidance, I’m confident College Possible will continue to thrive and expand its impact in powerful ways.”
Please congratulate Melissa Robinson on this well-deserved promotion and as we welcome her to this next chapter of leadership.
