By Dr. Siva Kumari, CEO of College Possible

Professional headshot of woman with glasses, wearing a necklaceThroughout my career, I have been privileged to work with mission-driven organizations, driven by the belief that education is the most powerful equalizer. Joining College Possible — an organization that has been at the forefront of equitable college opportunity since its inception in 2000 — feels like a natural progression.

Taking on the role of CEO, I feel humbled by the opportunity to join an incredible team dedicated to helping students from underrepresented backgrounds chart pathways to and through higher education. Thanks to its proven curriculum and powerful commitment to helping students navigate the complexities of higher education, College Possible has made a measurable difference in the lives of more than 80,000 students nationwide.

What sets College Possible apart is not only its evidence-based model and sustained student outcomes, but also the energy, spirit, and genuine care exhibited by the entire team, including its valued AmeriCorps members. This human-centered approach to supporting students resonated deeply with me. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to each member of College Possible and its leaders for building an organization that not only delivers results against a vital mission, but also boasts more than 20 years of meaningful student impact and countless lives changed.

As I begin my time as CEO, I have been actively engaging with the College Possible team, immersing myself in learning about the diverse individuals who make up this vibrant community.

Through conversations with our dedicated team and board members, I have gained a deeper understanding of College Possible’s crucial role within the complex national ecosystem of organizations working tirelessly to close gaps in student support.

As I continue to meet with members of the team, I am inspired by their professionalism, innovative ideas and insightful perspectives on how we can strengthen College Possible and its associated impact. For students from systematically disenfranchised communities, College Possible stands as a beacon of hope, empowering countless young people to achieve their college-going and career aspirations. I look forward to sharing our vision for the future of the organization in the months ahead. Together, we will make College Possible an even greater force for positive change in young people’s lives.
