NBA Foundation Renews Multi-Site Grant to Support College Possible Students Across NBA Markets

For many students, the path to college is not always clear. Applications, financial aid, deadlines and the first months after enrollment can feel overwhelming, especially for students who are the first in their families to pursue higher education.

“College can feel like a maze, with applications, financial aid, deadlines, and the critical first months after enrollment all presenting challenges,” said Dr. Siva Kumari, CEO of College Possible. “With this critical support from the NBA Foundation, we can scale the individualized coaching with tools that help students cut through complexity, stay on track and move closer to a meaningful career.”

College Possible is proud to share that the NBA Foundation has renewed its support with a $200,000 unrestricted, multi-site grant for the 2025-26 academic year and beyond. The funding continues a 4-year national partnership focused on expanding college and career opportunities for college-seekers in NBA team markets.

Supporting Students Where It Matters Most

During this academic year, College Possible will serve 18,750 first-generation students across five NBA markets. Students begin working with College Possible as early as junior year of high school and continue receiving support through college graduation, when guidance can make the greatest difference.

College Possible’s no-cost program combines personal connection with practical tools. Students receive one-on-one coaching from mentors, access to 24/7 AI-powered coaching solutions grounded in a proven curriculum, and opportunities for career exposure and skill development that connect education to long-term economic opportunity.

The renewed NBA Foundation grant will support College Possible students in the following regions: Chicago, Minnesota, Oregon, Texas and Wisconsin. The funding will also strengthen national tools and systems that help coaches better support students across the country.

A Shared Commitment to Economic Mobility

The NBA Foundation works to expand economic opportunity for youth ages 14 to 24 by investing in programs that support successful transitions from school to meaningful employment, with a focus on organizations operating in NBA team markets.

That mission closely aligns with College Possible’s work to help first-generation students and those from low-income backgrounds get into and through college and prepare for careers. Together, the organizations support students as they navigate complex systems, persist in college and move toward long-term economic mobility.

Looking Ahead

With continued support from the NBA Foundation, College Possible will build on what works, strengthen its coaching and technology, and continue focusing on the moments that matter most for students.

College Possible is grateful for the NBA Foundation’s continued partnership and belief in what students can achieve when they have the right support.
