A night of celebration, inspiration, and generosity—College Possible Wisconsin’s 10th Annual Dream Big Dinner was truly a memorable night.
At the event, College Possible Wisconsin recognized two award recipients: Dave Kundert and the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County. Kundert, an inaugural member of College Possible Wisconsin’s advisory board, was honored with the Patricia Wilmeth Award for his commitment to serving the youth of Wisconsin for over forty years, including more than ten years of steadfast support for College Possible. The United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County was honored with the Community Impact Partner of the Year Award for their commitment to fighting for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in our community.
College Possible Wisconsin also celebrated the graduating College Possible Class of 2024 and heard from program alumni on their strides in achieving their dreams. One alumni, Richard Esparza, spoke virtually to Dream Big Dinner attendees. “I was a part of the first class of College Possible students in Milwaukee and a student speaker at Dream Big Dinner, way back in the day,” reflected Richard. “I ended that speech by telling you that my next goal was law school… and here I stand before you as a lawyer. Without you, I would not have been able to dream big. Thank you.”
The generosity of our dedicated community helped us raise over $220,000 at the event, empowering College Possible Wisconsin students with the support and knowledge that they have advocates in their corner establishing opportunities for their current and future success.
The significance of this evening extends far beyond the funds raised. It marked the launch of a new chapter as we unveiled our rebrand from College Possible Milwaukee to College Possible Wisconsin. With this step forward, we reaffirmed our commitment to serving students across the entire state, ensuring that no dream goes unrealized due to circumstance or geography.
From all of us at College Possible Wisconsin, thank you to all those who joined us for being a vital part of our mission, for believing in the power of equitable education, and for making dreams a reality.
