College Possible Wisconsin is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $100,000 Good Neighbor Grant from Ascendium Education Group. They are one of 10 recipients of the grant, as nominated and voted on by Ascendium employees.
This grant strengthens the core of our work: ensuring Wisconsin students have the coaching, stability, and resources they need not only to get into college, but to thrive there and graduate. This support allows us to stabilize our new full-time expert advising model, deepen partnerships with our school communities, and keep our services free for the students who depend on us. It goes straight to the heart of what matters: consistent, deeply personal, evidence-based guidance that drives college success and advances long-term economic mobility.
“Ascendium has walked alongside College Possible Wisconsin since 2009, and we are profoundly grateful for this new Good Neighbor Grant,” says Marco Morrison, executive director of College Possible Wisconsin. “Their enduring commitment—now totaling more than $6 million over 14 years of support—has opened doors to college opportunities for thousands of students. This is economic mobility in action. Their partnership fuels the power of possible and changes the lives of Wisconsin students, their families and their communities.”
Good Neighbor Grants are part of Ascendium’s employee giving program, Ascendium Cares. Because Ascendium is a mission-driven nonprofit, employees often have strong connections to other nonprofits providing services that help people. Their expertise and direct involvement in Good Neighbor Grants provide an opportunity to recognize organizations doing good in their community. It’s one of many ways for employees to engage with Ascendium’s mission to improve outcomes, particularly in education and workforce training for learners from low-income backgrounds.
Since 2021, 100 nonprofits have received a Good Neighbor Grant, which allows them to continue going above and beyond to create education and workforce training opportunities in their communities.
