For 16 students across Texas, our recent scholarship award celebration marked the culmination of years of hard work and the thrilling beginning of what comes next. This moment was made possible by the Adam R. Scripps Foundation College Possible Scholarship. The Adam R. Scripps Foundation provides scholarships to College Possible students, ensuring cost alone never determines whether a student completes their degree. College Possible continues our support with dedicated coaches and advisors and a research-backed curriculum designed to help them navigate every step of the college journey, from the first application through graduation, at no cost to students or their families. The foundation supports College Possible students in both Texas and Chicago.

College Possible Texas recently gathered to honor the 2026 recipients of the Adam Scripps Foundation College Possible Scholarship. These students spent the last two years navigating the complex road to higher education with assistance and support from College Possible advisors and coaches. Now, they are officially heading to college campuses across the country. Family, friends, and community supporters gathered to celebrate their accomplishments at an event in May. This year’s Texas scholars received $146,846 in scholarship funding, bringing the total awarded by the Adam R. Scripps Foundation to students in Texas and Chicago to $1.5 million since the partnership launched in 2024.
About the Adam R. Scripps Foundation
Earning a college degree takes more than ambition; it takes financial resources and the right guidance and support. That’s the core philosophy driving the partnership between the Adam R. Scripps Foundation and College Possible.
The Adam R. Scripps Foundation was established to carry forward the values of its namesake: a quiet, generous Texan who believed in taking real, meaningful action when he saw someone in need. Rooted in Fredericksburg, a community Adam Scripps loved deeply, the foundation was built on his longstanding belief that the right resources at the right moment could change the direction of a life. Since Adam’s passing in 2019, his family has carried that commitment forward, expanding the foundation’s reach through impactful partnerships such as this one with College Possible.
Meet the Class of 2026
This year’s scholars come from high schools across Central Texas and the Houston area, including Lehman High School, Fredericksburg High School, Stony Point High School, C.E. King High School, Johnson High School, Travis High School and Del Valle High School. They are heading to universities near and far, from the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M to Texas Tech University and the University of Southern California.
For many of them, the path to this moment started with a conversation: a College Possible Texas advisor who saw their potential and stayed by their side through college applications, financial aid and enrollment decisions, ultimately encouraging them to apply for the scholarship. Hands-on guidance is central to how College Possible Texas works, and it’s a big part of what makes moments like this possible.
