Congratulations to the 49 College Possible students from 25 Twin Cities high schools who were awarded a Wallin Scholarship from Wallin Education Partners. The scholarship awards up to $16,000 over four years to help offset the costs of attending college.
Students at Wallin partner high schools are awarded the Wallin Scholarship by meeting financial need criteria, maintaining a 3.0 GPA and based on their responses in three essays. Scholarship recipients must attend an accredited college or university in Minnesota or one of the four adjacent states, or any Historically Black College or University.
In addition to the Wallin Scholarship, College Possible has awarded nearly $180,000 in tuition assistance and direct student aid to students this year. This aid is not scholarships in the traditional sense. The Direct Student Aid, the College Possible Scholarship, and Better Futures Forward are awarded through an application which is comprised of the student’s most recent transcript, their financial aid package information, and a conversation with a College Possible staff member. College Possible student aid supports student nearing graduation and helps students with the final hurdles in completing their college degree.
