This fall, 361 high school students experienced life on a college campus.
High school juniors and seniors traveled to 11 public and private college and university campuses throughout Nebraska. Campus visits help students, especially those who will be the first in their family to attend, become more familiar with campus environments and better visualize their future.
Papillion – La Vista South High School Senior Aaliyah Garrido said she was impressed with the facilities and the variety of majors at Wayne State University in Wayne, Nebraska.
“I think the campus is very nice. I really love the library and I love that they have tutoring system,” Aaliyah said.
Campus visits are free for students in College Possible and feature a presentation by school admissions, a college student led panel, lunch and a campus tour including classrooms, residence halls, athletic facilities and more.
Partner colleges and universities this fall were College of Saint Mary, Wayne State University, University of Nebraska – Lincoln, University of Nebraska Kearney, University of Nebraska Omaha, Concordia University, Hastings College, Peru State University, Nebraska Wesleyan University, Midland University and Doane University.
Additional campus visits will be offered to students in the spring.
