College Possible granted early access to FAFSA

Three People In A Meeting, One Wearing A Blue Shirt, Discussing Content On A Laptop.

The United States Department of Education has awarded College Possible early access to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This allows the College Possible high school and college students we serve access to the FAFSA forms as early as October 15 (instead of waiting until FAFSA opens nationwide on December 1). College Possible Minnesota is hosting open office hours on October 15 and October 18 to help students and families complete the FAFSA.

How to participate

As part of the beta program, in order to attend the FAFSA Office Hours, students and families will need to complete the following steps:

  1. Create an FSA ID. Both student and parent(s) need an FSA ID no later than October 7
    • High School seniorsuse this guide to start the process if you haven’t started the process already
    • College students – make sure you can log into your account
  2. Fill out the Beta Student Sign-up form provided by College Possible by October 7
    • Students will receive an email with a link to complete this Beta Student Sign-up form.
  3. RSVP if you plan on attending the FAFSA office hours
