Shannon was born and raised in the Twin Cities. She graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in the spring of 2020 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and is pursuing a Master’s of Arts in Higher Education, also at the University of Minnesota. Her educational and career goals are largely driven by her identities as an Asian-American woman and first-generation student; Shannon hopes to redefine and reconstruct the journey to and through college into a more equitable experience, especially for those who hold similar, underrepresented and marginalized identities.
Shannon was a student in the College Possible program through high school and college. After graduating from university, she served as a college success coach for two years, and then came back as a Navigate program coordinator for the college access team.
