Melissa Valek is the Senior Development Director of College Possible Omaha. Melissa joined the College Possible Omaha Leadership Team in August 2020. As the Senior Development Director she is responsible for managing, coordinating, and achieving revenue and communication goals to support organizational priorities.
Melissa’s non-profit work began in 2000 when she left a career in human resources and accepted a position as the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at St. Mary’s University. Melissa was later promoted to Associate Director of Development where she led fundraising, stewardship, special events and the advancement services team.
Melissa holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a master’s degree in English, Language and Literature from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX. Melissa lives in Papillion with her husband Kane and their sons, Austin and Wyatt.
