Carolyn has lived and worked in Milwaukee since 1991, moving here to attend college. She began her career in customer service and soon found the world of widgets unfulfilling. She transitioned to the nonprofit sector in 2005 where she employed her passion for people at organizations like the Alliance Francaise, Milwaukee Ballet, and Playworks. She is passionate about education and enriching the lives of children through the arts and play.
College Possible’s mission is close to home for Carolyn as a first generation college student herself. A self-described “average” student in high school, she understands the importance of having a strong support system. “Seeing the impact College Possible has, I wish I had had a College Possible coach!”
Carolyn has a BA in French Literature and minor in History. In 2002 she completed the post-baccalaureate teaching program at UWM and spent a year abroad in Verdun, France teaching English through a program with the French Ministry of Education. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Public Administration. She loves cooking, eating, reading, gardening, walking, and spending time with her husband, two sons, and their dog Piper.
