Originally from Virginia, BG went to college in Minnesota and then joined Teach for America, working as a kindergarten through eighth-grade Spanish teacher in Gary, Indiana. Teaching in Gary was her first introduction to the world of college access and success. BG moved to Boston to serve as one of two founding college counselors at KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate (KALC) in Lynn, Massachusetts. She went on to become the Director of College Counseling while supporting the KALC’s first two graduating classes. In 2016, BG moved to London to pursue US admissions counseling abroad. BG and her family moved back to Minnesota in 2018. Prior to joining College Possible, BG served as the Director of College and Career Counseling at Venture Academy, a single-site charter school in Minneapolis. Working at Venture for four and a half years, BG was able to share her enthusiasm for college access and success with Venture’s founding graduates. BG received her B.A. in Latin American Studies from Carleton College and her M.A. in Higher Education from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
