Thank-a-thon engages service and community members

Angel Makes A Call During Thank-A-Thon

As a part of their term of service, AmeriCorps members have the opportunity to participate in different committees. They can join the fun committee, the AmeriCorps recruitment committee, or even the external relations team (ERT) committee. AmeriCorps members involved in the ERT committee recently connected with College Possible Omaha supporters through our annual Thank-A-Thon event.

Thank-A-Thon allows AmeriCorps members to learn more about fundraising as a professional skill and enables them to connect with community members who support college access and success. Members call donors who have made gifts within the past year to thank them for their gifts and to talk about how their year of AmeriCorps service benefits students.

Thank-A-Thon is a unique way for AmeriCorps members to get involved with College Possible and it’s a great way to engage our supporters in our mission,” said Allyson Triplett, College Possible Omaha’s donor relations manager and staff partner for the ERT.

ERT members also helped design, create, and send Valentine’s Day postcards to all the individuals they called during the Thank-A-Thon event. Ali Dassner provided the artwork, Stacey Rosener designed the postcard, and Elliott Abromeit provided the script written on each card.

As the postcard read, “Textbooks are read, papers are due, thanks for supporting our students the way that you do! Happy Valentine’s Day from College Possible!” We thank you for your continued support of College Possible Omaha.
