Raising Support for Students

College Possible Oregon is fortunate to have many dedicated, talented and incredible volunteers who have been helping us behind the scenes this year. Here’s a highlight of some of their work. We invite you to join us in raising support for students.

Kann Winter Village event

Presented by Baseballism

On April 18, we held our first in-person event in well over a year. We joined Chef Gregory Gourdet at his sold-out, COVID safe, pop-up restaurant for a night with College Possible supporters. Guests were seated in yurts and able to experience multiple courses of Haitian-inspired food and drinks. Thanks to investment council members, Thomas Bookman, Geneva Stegemoller and Jon Loomis for putting all the pieces together to make this delicious event happen.

(Virtual) House Parties

This April we held two virtual house parties that introduced College Possible to a plethora of new people. These parties have been hosted by board members and investment council members, but could be hosted by anyone!

The host invites their network of friends, coworkers, book club members, neighbors, sports teammates, or whomever they think might be interested in learning more about College Possible. Attendees have been enjoying casual conversations, hearing from a current student or student alumni and figuring out how they can best support our mission.

Gentle Yoga with the Ambassador Boardcoming next month!

Our Ambassador Board is a group of 14 young professionals who are committed to raising awareness and support for College Possible. Their next event will be a quick hour of gentle yoga on a weekend morning in late May. This event will be open to everyone and hopes to raise money to support direct aid for College Possible students. Join Oregon’s newsletter to find out more about upcoming events like this one, what’s happening with our program and students, and stay up to date with education equity work.
