As classes begin this fall a new partnership between College Possible Minnesota and Minneapolis Southwest High School and Washburn High School will launch. This program offers the College Possible program of free, personalized support to junior and senior high school students. Students are supported in gaining access to postsecondary education pathways through researching best-fit colleges, identifying funding sources, and supplying resources to help students thrive as they pursue degree completion.
“We’re excited to welcome two new Minneapolis public high schools to our Flagship model for the 2024-2025 school year” says BG Tucker, Senior Director of Programs. “By establishing a presence in Southwest and Washburn High Schools, we will be able to directly support more students from historically underserved backgrounds in their journey to and through college. I am excited to strengthen our ties within the Minneapolis community and continue to build relationships of trust and collaboration with students, families, and school staff.”
As a Flagship partner, both Southwest and Washburn High Schools, along with College Possible Minnesota, will match eligible students with a trained AmeriCorps coach and an intensive curriculum designed to help students overcome the most common barriers to getting into college and completing their degree — all at no cost to students or their families.
