In May, College Possible Washington was excited to collaborate with foundry10 on a scholarship for high school seniors. The scholarship team awarded 10, $2,000 scholarships to students who are enrolling for the 2021-2022 school year in college, university, technical or post-secondary career education in the United States.
foundry10 is a philanthropic educational research organization whose goal is to expand the way people think about learning. They work with students and teachers in a variety of areas to extend learning opportunities and provide individual support for future and career exploration.
College Possible’s partnership began in 2018 as a project to provide supplemental funds that can be utilized by students to cover costs associated with their post-secondary educational paths. While foundry10 funded the scholarship, College Possible Washington’s program team and AmeriCorps coaches reviewed applications and decided on recipients.
Not only did this scholarship provide our students with useful funds to help kick-start their journey to and through college, but it also allowed us at College Possible to gain a deeper understanding of both the barriers and opportunities that our students experience. Through reading our students’ scholarship applications, we were grateful to learn more about their individual stories, academic passions and incredible resiliency.” – Rachel Stone, high school program manager / foundry10 project lead
