In May, we were thrilled to recognize the Class of 2022 high school graduates at our annual College Decision Day event. We welcomed College Possible seniors from across the city for a day of fun and celebration at the Chicago History Museum.
Each spring, high school seniors around the country make their final decisions about which college they plan to attend by May 1, known as “College Decision Day.” To celebrate this momentous occasion, College Possible students, coaches, staff and community members come together to applaud our seniors for their college acceptances and to recognize them for their hard work and accomplishments throughout the year.
This year’s event kicked off with speeches by our College Possible coaching team, who offered advice on the transition to college and previewed the range of supports available to students throughout the rest of their college journeys. We were also excited to welcome CoolSpeak guest speaker, Carlos Ojeda Jr., who shared about his own educational experiences and the challenges he overcame along the way.
Later in the day, students enjoyed lunch while meeting with college representatives, giving them the opportunity to ask questions and chat with admissions officers from the colleges they plan to attend. Finally, as the event wrapped-up, each student received a gift in recognition of their accomplishments, leaving with a College Possible sweatshirt, kindly donated by our corporate partner William Blair.
We are incredibly proud of our seniors and look forward to supporting them throughout the rest of their college journeys. Congratulations Class of 2022!
