Back in Session: College Possible Omaha celebrates the start of the new school year

College Possible Omaha staff and ServeNebraska AmeriCorps members celebrated the start of the 2019-20 school with a picnic on Friday, Aug. 30.

This year, there are 30 new and returning AmeriCorps members serving Omaha students. The group hosted a picnic at Elmwood Park in Omaha and wore their alma mater colors to coincide with national College Colors Day, an annual day that celebrates colleges and universities.

What college colors do you represent? For many in Omaha, they include red, black or gold. Four-year college and universities represented included University of Nebraska Omaha, Nebraska Wesleyan, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Ohio State University, University of Iowa and more.
