College Forward (now College Possible Texas) coaches Kyle and Baytown were among several AmeriCorps members recognized by city officials in Austin, Houston on April 2 as part of the Mayor’s Day of Recognition for National Service.
Mayors Lee Leffingwell, Annise Parker, Lucy Johnson and Stephen DonCarlos issued proclamations recognizing the positive impact of national service, and honoring those who give back. College Access Coach and College Forward graduate, Diana Gomez, spoke about her experiences working with students during the Austin ceremony and emphasized the “circle of service” she has experienced through College Forward.
