College Possible Omaha’s 12 AmeriCorps Coaches and one AmeriCorps VISTA work tirelessly to improve the lives of local students. We celebrated them and their commitment to local youth during AmeriCorps Appreciation Week, a time to show gratitude and appreciation to AmeriCorps members across the nation. From March 12-18, College Possible Omaha showed its gratitude to our local heroes by hosting a week full of gifts and activities.
To help them grow professionally and personally, coaches received books on professional development and spring care packages filled with their favorite drinks and go-to snacks. They even had the opportunity to take professional headshots with a photographer, perfect for their LinkedIn profiles. These offerings were a small token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication to College Possible’s mission.
One of the highlights of the week was a Paint and Sip bonding session with the coaches and staff members of the College Possible Omaha team. With the help of the college access program coordinator, Christina Jelinek, the afternoon was filled with colorful paintings and delicious mocktails. This fun and interactive event allowed coaches to connect with each other and the rest of the team while celebrating their many accomplishments, including professional and personal growth.
My life has been impacted for the better since serving with AmeriCorps. It’s a great feeling knowing I am helping others during their challenging times,” said AmeriCorps VISTA, T’Netha Bailey.
College Possible Omaha is grateful for AmeriCorps coaches and is committed to supporting them in their service to the Omaha community. If you know someone interested in becoming a College Possible coach, applications are now open! Join the Omaha team today.
