We have so many generous employers in King County. Did you know that many of them offer company benefits to encourage their employees to support worthy causes of their choice? Well, it’s true! Globally, 65% of Fortune 500 companies have matching gift programs to support community organizations and nonprofits like College Possible.
Here in Washington, one of the biggest examples of this is Microsoft’s GIVE month which is happening now! Every year in October, Microsoft employees are encouraged to make donations to any 501c3 nonprofit of their choice and Microsoft will double their gift. Technically, they’ll match donations all year long. It’s incredible! They will also donate dollars to nonprofits that Microsoft employees volunteer with—a win-win.
Other employers such as King County, Sellen, Boeing, Liberty Mutual, Starbucks and Wells Fargo also offer matching gift programs or run employee giving campaigns. Does your employer do something similar?
