Kevin is a senior at Ralston High School and wants to study architectural engineering in college. A national honor society student, Kevin is also a member of the soccer team and is actively pursuing his future career by taking courses at Metro Community College. While at Metro, Kevin is working toward his license in drywall, concrete, woodworking and masonry.
In addition to completing his final credits for high school and preparing for college next fall, Kevin is also part of the Intern Omaha program, where he is learning more about his career path while working with estimating engineers at Kiewit Companies. Getting a college degree is important to him because it opens doors to more possibilities in the workforce.
College is important to me because it creates a vision for what it will be like out in the real world.”
Though the past year and a half has presented multiple challenges – school closures, virtual learning environments and limited in-person contact, Kevin’s determination has not been swayed. Through it all his College Possible coach has been there to answer his questions about scholarships, encourage his passions, and help him determine what college would best meet his aspirations. Of his experience, Kevin said, “College Possible is an easier path to college. If I have questions, College Possible answers them. My coach and the organization are a helping hand to get a better scope of colleges by getting to know them, their values and their network.”
