Earlier this year, College Possible Omaha learned we had been selected as the 2021 Charity Partner for UP Ties, an employee resource group at Union Pacific whose mission is to be the bridge between local communities and young professionals through service and excellence.
Over the past six months, that partnership has led to professional development sessions for AmeriCorps service members, scholarship opportunities for College Possible students, and funding for hig h school and college programming.

In mid-May UP Ties committee members shared their expertise via a virtual panel discussion with AmeriCorps coaches on how to conduct a successful job search and prepare for post-College Possible career endeavors. Following the panel discussion, participants entered break out rooms where UP Ties panelists conducted individual resume reviews and provided valuable insight on how to build a compelling resume.
A month later, UP Ties hosted their annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Eagle Hills Golf Course in Papillion, NE. UP Ties committee members worked tirelessly to ensure it was a great experience for everyone in attendance. Thanks to their hard work and the generosity of tournament vendors, sponsors and golfers, College Possible will receive over $25,500, which will be directed to a focused curriculum that helps students get to and through college.
