Serve with College Possible

College Possible is dedicated to closing the degree divide and making college possible for students from low-income backgrounds through an intensive curriculum of coaching and support.

Jerika ChristmanAs a college graduate from a low-income family, I feel driven to help as many students from a similar background as mine pursue a better, more supported path,” said 2020-21 AmeriCorps member Jerika Christman. “Students deserve to know they are capable, worthy, supported and belong in a collegiate or university setting no matter their background, income, experience, etc. I believe in making College Possible for all.”

Currently, College Possible is recruiting recent college graduates to make an impact by becoming AmeriCorps members. College Possible is recruiting for members at all locations. In Oregon, we have openings for High School Coaches, College Coaches, Community Partnerships Team Members and CollegePoint Coaches:

  • High School Coach – Support high school students by providing guidance on ACT/SAT test preparation, essay writing, college applications, scholarships, financial aid and more.
  • College Coach Serve as a coach for students as they navigate the milestones and resources essential to graduating from college.
  • Community Partnerships Team Member – Support College Possible’s programming by building and supporting partnerships to serve students. This may include organizing College Prep Talks, college planning workshops, program wide community service days, ACT exams, campus visits and support services for students.
  • CollegePoint Coach Support high-achieving high school students across the country as a part of the CollegePoint initiative.

AmeriCorps members receive a biweekly living allowance, health coverage and an Education Award of $6,345 that can be used to repay federal student loans or pay future education expenses. Opportunities for AmeriCorps members go beyond just the living allowance and Education Award, they have opportunities for professional development, networking and career exploration. College Possible also provides a community of young professionals that is unparalleled to any other post-graduation opportunity.
