College Possible brings 83 juniors and seniors to the UIC campus open house

In September, 83 College Possible Chicago high school students visited the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC) for an enlightening fall open house. Many of the juniors and seniors were experiencing the campus for the very first time.

Students had the opportunity to learn about campus organizations, meet academic department heads and talk to current UIC students, including College Possible students, who are thriving at the university. Because of its proximity, UIC is popular among College Possible Chicago students, and the experience of visiting the school provides a valuable reference point for students when comparing their options. Each student has unique academic, social and financial needs and  they are encouraged to reflect on whether a school matches these needs. Hands-on exploration, like the visit to UIC, helps them prepare to apply and ultimately select their best-fit college destination.

Throughout the rest of the school year, juniors will continue this journey of exploration, diving into the admissions process, researching various colleges and reflecting on what type of institution best suits them. Meanwhile, seniors are finalizing their college lists and delving deeper into what each school offers—from academics to campus life and student organizations.

We are grateful to the University of Illinois-Chicago for hosting us and being a collaborative partner in supporting students on their campus. This school year, other campus visits will include the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Dominican University, the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and the Illinois Institute of Technology.
