McKenzie is the first person in her family to graduate with a bachelor’s degree. From a young age, her parents emphasized the importance of a college education and being a lifelong learner. As the first in her family to attend a four-year university, McKenzie understands the unique process of navigating college, from application to graduation.
A proud 2022 graduate from St. Catherine University, McKenzie is passionate about supporting fellow first-generation students on the path to achieving their academic and career dreams. She is enthusiastic about programs such as College Possible, that help narrow the equity gap in higher education and work to make college accessible for all learners.
McKenzie served as a college success coach for two years and is so excited to join the College Possible team as an advising specialist. She says, “it takes people to make the dream work!” and sees her work as a continuation of the teachers, mentors and supporters who helped make college possible for her.
