Sean Barry is Vice President of Human Resources Talent Acquisition at Allstate Insurance Company. In this role, Sean is responsible for defining and executing our next generation Talent Acquisition strategy with leadership accountability across the entire Allstate organization for the team acquiring corporate employees, executives, and agent/producers. This accountability includes ongoing development and delivery of candidate marketing/branding, diversity and campus recruitment, employer/employee market research, candidate workforce resource planning and oversight, management of TA operational risk, budget, and oversight for the vendor management of key TA partners in the technology and outsourcing spaces.
Sean joined Allstate from Walgreens where he served as Senior Director, Talent Acquisition, responsible for leading enterprise-wide full cycle recruiting. While at Walgreens, he led the strategy and delivery of internal and external diversity talent initiatives (including acquisition, mobility, and assessment). He also led a rapid-hiring initiative that resulted in more than 20,000 new hires in four weeks in response to COVID-19. Sean brings a result-oriented, data-driven, and technology-enabled approach to recruiting. Most of his career has been in recruiting leading teams at Trustmark, Discover and GE Capital. He also has experience on the retained search and consulting staffing firm side of the business.
Sean earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois and his master’s degree in human resources and industrial relations from Loyola University Chicago. Sean lives in the Chicago area with his wife, Angela, and their two children Jack (22) and Bridget (19). A puggle, named Leo (11), completes his family.
Sean has coached more than 20 youth sports teams in the past 15 years including baseball, basketball, and softball. His favorite sport teams are the Cubs, the Bears and universities of Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana. Outside of work, he enjoys watching movies, reading, and taking his parents out to dinner.
