College Possible Philadelphia makes college access and success possible for students from low-income, under-resourced backgrounds through an intensive curriculum of coaching and support. Since 2014, College Possible has been delivering college access and success programming to students in and around Philadelphia, serving high school and college students on their journeys to a four-year degree.
“Applying to college is overwhelming, especially for high school students doing it on their own. College Possible was my support and my backbone. I had both of my coaches encouraging me all the way, telling me ‘You can do this.’ They were so supportive, they made sure everything was done and that I was completely set to go. I would not have known where to start without College Possible.”
— Chama Imani, George Washington High School, now a student at Arizona State University
Philadelphia’s Focus and Need in 2020
By investing EITC credits with College Possible Philadelphia, an approved EITC Educational Improvement Organization for 2020, you can help support our college access and success programming in the City of Philadelphia. College Possible Philadelphia will allocate your 2020 EITC tax credits to deliver its evidence-based programming to more than 130 junior and senior students at five high schools in the School District of Philadelphia:
The City of Philadelphia faces a college completion crisis — only 25% of the School District of Philadelphia students earn a college degree by age 24 — and this will become worse, since most Pennsylvania jobs (63%) will require a post-secondary degree in 2020. College Possible helps to close this divide for students from low-income backgrounds, paving the way for a more qualified workforce and providing our students with a way to break the cycle of poverty and improve the quality of life for themselves, their families and their communities.
