The community that I was able to form at Carleton went beyond the amazing, life-long friends that I made, but also the faculty and staff. At times the staff is so friendly that it truly feels like a family. Every time I went to our student union café, Sayles, I would be greeted by a friendly face. Those faces became people who took the time to learn my name and about my day. This summer I was at Minnehaha Falls with two other Carls and we ran into a woman who works at Sayles, and she invited us over to meet her friends and family and to join their picnic. The Carleton connection and the community extends beyond the physical boundaries of campus and it definitely outlasted my four years on campus, and for that I am grateful.
