Karrissa is a Workforce Development Recruiter at CommonSpirit Health, focusing on developing future leaders in healthcare. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies and Master of Public Administration from the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) in 2017 and 2021, respectively. Karrissa serves on the Board of Directors at the POC Collaborative, a local nonprofit that provides access to critical resources that support and elevate resident voices, entrepreneurial innovation, and strengthens the cultural and historic fabric of Nebraska. She also has a passion for financial literacy and capability, firmly believing financial knowledge is a key component to achieving economic success advancement, especially for those with the most need. Karissa enjoys serving on several local grant selection committees within her community and co-leads the children’s ministry at her church. She was born and raised in Louisiana and now considers Omaha her second hometown. Karrissa is most passionate about people, her community and contributing to efforts to create equity and belonging for all.
