On May 21 in Pittsburg, PA, College Possible Minnesota’s Communications Manager Rebecca Merrill spoke at the National Association of Government Communicators’ annual multi-day conference, “Communications School.” This annual event provides invaluable networking opportunities and practical educational sessions to help communicators increase their skills. Attendees include spokespersons, web developers, social media strategists, editors, writers, public information officers, broadcasters, videographers, photographers, and marketing professionals.

Along with co-presenter Michael Hughes, Rebecca presented on “How to Effectively Communicate with Confidence,” sharing insights into how to structure a presentation, the art of storytelling, and tips on confidence. “I love that you gave real-world examples,” said one attendee from Indianapolis. “It was so informative! I know I can use these tips,” said another attendee from Ohio. A senior communications coordinator and former television reporter from New Mexico said, “this was one of the best presentations I’ve attended at this conference. Both presenters gave clear guidelines, provided insight using real work examples, and did a great job answering questions. I’ve been in this business for a long time, and I still learned new ideas.”
